16. Eastern Oregon Fire Museum
Five vintage fire engines are the highlights of this museum in historic downtown La Grande, Oregon. The three oldest engines have been beautifully restored to their original condition. Exhibits include a smoke jumper and antique firefighting equipment, along with photos and stories of the area’s most famous fires. The museum is housed in a historic downtown building that served as the La Grande fire station from 1899 to 2002. Other popular Eastern Oregon attractions include the Eagle Cap Excursion Train, John Day Fossil Beds, Tamástslikt Cultural Center Museum, and the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center near Baker City.
